Examination and Norms of Promotion

There will be three periodic written test in the whole academic year. The first periodic test will be conducted in the 3rd week of July (Pre midterm exam), the second in the month of October (Half yearly exam) And the third in the month of January (Post midterm exam). The final exam will be conducted in March. For the purpose of internal assessment, the marks secured by the student in the periodic tests, notebook submission and his / her performance and interaction in the class will be considered. The following table shows the marks distribution. *A student has to secure 33%marks out of 80 marks in each subject for promotion to the next class.

In order to ensure the holistic development of the students, each child will be graded on a 5-point grading scale (A to E) on the basis of Work Education, Art education and Health & Physical Education and over discipline which will include parameters like attendance and adherence to the school rules in general. *90% attendance is compulsory for promotion. *For the students appearing in the Board Exams (X, XII), there will be a compulsory Pre-Board Exam in the month of December /January/ February.

*Pupils absent from an examination for any reason will not be examined for the same.

*Absence from one or two subjects involves loss of marks for those subjects and excludes the pupil from securing a grade.

*Willful breach of any of the regulations pertaining to the conduct of examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination.

*Results declared at the end of the school year are final and are not reconsidered nor will the answer papers be shown.

For Classes I to X

A child who scores 'D' grade, needs to make conscious effort to score at least 'C' grade in the next class. Primary Classes upto V are the Golden years during which a child's foundation is laid through the process of learning. Hence parents should be in close contact with the child & co-operate with the teacher to build a strong foundation of their children in acquiring Life skills, Attitude and Value system coupled with intellectual application in acquiring knowledge.

For promotion to next class a child should obtain minimum D grade. The child who scores below 'D' grade in one or 2 major subjects will be given anothor chance to improve his / her

performance after the results, within a month . And such a student is not eligible for promotion to the next class until they improve their performance. For promotion from IX to X a student should obtain minimum 'D' grade. The students who obtain E grade in one or two subjects would not be eligible for promotion to class X till they improve their performance. For promotion from XI to XII a student should obtain minimum 33% marks. The promotion criteria of class IX, X & XI are subject to modification as notified by CBSE from time to time.

  • 90% attendance is compulsary for promotion for classes I-VIII and 75% for classes IX-XII
  • Pupils absent from any Term Exams for any reason will not be re-examined/re-considered.
  • Willful breach of any regulations pertaining to the class tests or Unit Tests / Term exams is punishable which will lead to disqualification from test. If a student is caught in exams using or

    assisting in the use of unfair means, the Exam will be considered null and void.

  • Result declared at the end of the school year is final and will not be reconsidered nor will the answer paper of Final Exam be shown
  • Progress report will be shown to the Parents at the end of each term.
  • In case of loss/damage of report card, you will have to apply for new card which will cost Rs. 50/-
  • Students are not allowed to miss the exam of minor papers as they are equally important for the promotion to the next class.Parents have to get the leave sanctioned personally during

    mid - term tests / exam days.

  • Playing in classrooms or on corridors is strictly prohibited.
  • Parents or Guardians of students are bound to make good if any damage is caused to school property.
  • The school will take all possible care and precaution to safeguard the children when they are in the school campus. However, it will not be held responsible for any mishap during their stay in the school. First-Aid will be rendered immediately without delay. Parents are encouraged to have their children undergo medical examination regularly for general well-being, specially dental, eye and ear care. for curbing transmission of Covid 19 students are encouraged to get into the practice of regularly washing their hands applying hand sanitizers at key moments, wearing facemasks and Physical distancing. Students who have symptoms of an infectious illness should stay at home.
  • The students who wish to get their photographs attested by the school must be photographed in their school uniform.
  • 12. A student returning to school after suffering from the infectious or contagious diseases should produce a doctor's certificate to the effect that the child is fit to rejoin.
